Professor Mitchell is the director of Drexel University’s Architectural Engineering (AE) program. He is registered architect and former principal in the Philadelphia design firm Jordan-Mitchell, Inc.
At Drexel since 1988 his achievements include shaping the Architectural Engineering Program, leading it to accreditation and developing MS and PhD degrees. His research efforts have primarily been in Engineering Education. He has been Associate Dean of Engineering, and Interim Department head. He has twice won the CoE outstanding Teacher Award, a University Teaching Excellence award, and a University service award.
